It’s Not True That Witches Confess Before They Die, They’re Only Suffering Side effects -Olayiwola

Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Rasaq Olayiwola popularly known as Ojopagogo, has rejected the common belief that witches confess their sins before dying.

He says such public confessions are not real proof of witchcraft but rather side effects of untreated sickness.

Speaking in an interview on Agbaletu TV, Olayiwola explained that many older people accused of being witches were actually suffering from diabetes.

He pointed out that this disease can cause serious damage to the body over time.

According to him, a person with severe diabetes often loses their eyesight first.

They may also become unable to perform properly in the inner room. When the sickness gets worse, it can reach the brain and cause mental confusion.

Once the mental problem starts, the person begins to behave strangely. They say things that are not true and mix up their thoughts.

People around them then call these wrong words a confession of witchcraft. Olayiwola argued that this is simply a side effect of the illness, not a real admission of guilt.

He also asked why hardly anyone sees a witch confess openly these days. His answer is that better healthcare now means fewer people reach that serious stage of diabetes.

In the past, without good treatment, the disease went too far and caused the strange behavior that people misunderstood.

His words: “Do you notice that these days, you don’t see any witch confess publicly? In those days, they believed that witches confessed in public. However, their action back then was due to a disease called diabetes. When someone is suffering from diabetes, they will lose their sight, may be unable to perform in the inner room, and might even develop mental issues. It’s when it leads to this mental issue that they start misbehaving and saying things they didn’t do, which people call confession.”……See More
