Omoyele Sowore, a Nigerian activist and former presidential aspirant, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the detention of B-Lord and the online reactions involving social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Sowore responded to the heated discussions circulating online, particularly claims that VeryDarkMan was celebrating B-Lord’s arrest. He cautioned against deriving joy from the imprisonment of others, noting that such attitudes can contribute to the misuse of the justice system.

Sowore explained that although he had no prior personal connection with B-Lord, he reached out to him for reassurance while he was in custody. According to him, the situation reflects his broader campaign against what he describes as systemic oppression.

He also addressed comments suggesting he could be targeted with imprisonment, stressing that detention is not unfamiliar to him due to his long-standing activism and clashes with authorities. He maintained that he is not intimidated by such threats and remains committed to his beliefs despite potential risks.

“I don’t need to know you to stand up for you,” he said, emphasizing his willingness to support others regardless of personal ties.
