Iranian Military Says “Sacred Wrath Destroyed Two C-130s And Two Black Hawks”-U.S. Rescue Hit

According to a report by Anadolu Agency on Sunday, April 05, 2026, Iranian authorities reported on Sunday that their military destroyed two American C-130 transport aircraft and two Black Hawk helicopters during a U.S. search-and-rescue operation near Isfahan.

The operation followed the downing of a U.S. F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet over Iranian territory earlier this week, part of the escalating conflict between the United States and Iran that intensified in late March 2026. The U.S. mission aimed to recover the crew of the downed jet.

A spokesperson for the Central Command of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya, which oversees Iran’s armed forces, stated: “Two C-130 military transport aircraft and two Black Hawk helicopters of the US Army were destroyed by the sacred wrath of the soldiers of Islam in the powerful armed forces.”

Iranian reports indicated the operation involved the Aerospace Force, Ground Force, Popular Units, Basij, and Police command. Officials described the targeted aircraft as participating in the U.S. rescue effort in southern Isfahan.

Footage circulating on social media shows wreckage of the helicopters and transport planes at the site. Some Western sources suggest that U.S. forces may have deliberately destroyed parts of their aircraft during withdrawal to prevent their capture by Iranian personnel.

U.S. officials confirmed the successful recovery of at least one airman from the F-15E but have not publicly acknowledged any losses of aircraft during the mission.

The differing accounts highlight the ongoing contest of narratives between both countries as tensions remain high in the region, with military operations and claims continuing to dominate headlines…..See More
