People Are Asking Me How I Was So Quick To Get To The Scene Where People Were Killed In Jos -Alex

Following the recent wave of fatal attacks, American missionary Alex Barbir discussed his experience in Jos in an interview on News Central TV, highlighting the proximity of the violence to his position and voicing worries about the extent of insecurity in the area.

Barbir’s statement comes as a result of fresh murders in some regions of Plateau State, when armed guys launched coordinated attacks on towns, killing scores of people and wounding many more. With citizens and observers voicing alarm at the frequency and severity of such attacks, the occurrences have once again highlighted the ongoing security issues in Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

Looking back at the events, Barbir said that the proximity of the attacks made it simple for him to get to the scene quickly, adding that the violence has become an almost unavoidable fact for those residing in the impacted areas. Furthermore, he stated that the way the attacks were planned and carried out points to a more serious problem that is comparable to a civil war.
