Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to the FCT minister and former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike recently reacted after the minister disclosed that he had not adopted a candidate for the gubernatorial elections. According to the statements which were shared on his official X, he pointed out that the decision will be made after meeting with the elders.
The former governor of Rivers State and FCT minister, Nyesom Wike was recently on the spotlight after he led several political heavyweights to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP national convention in Abuja.
The convention, which was well attended by several members of the party, indicated that the long standing crisis had been resolved as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
However, back in Rivers State, the former governor asserted his dominance as he made it known that the PDP gubernatorial candidate will be decided after meeting with the elders.

According to his statements, the former governor disclosed that he had not adopted a candidate. The incumbent governor, Siminalayi Fubara, it can be recalled, had defected to the ruling APC following disagreements with the FCT minister.
