Dele Momodu, a key figure in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), recently addressed criticisms from Senator Adams Oshiomhole against Asue Ighodalo, the PDP gubernatorial candidate in Edo State.
Oshiomhole had criticized Ighodalo for not being able to speak his native language, a comment that sparked reactions.
Momodu addressed the issue in a video shared by Arise TV.
He went further discussing the challenges he would face if he were to run for governor in Edo State.
He noted that while people often suggest he should run for the gubernatorial seat, he consistently declines, citing his own inability to speak the local language as a disqualifying factor.
In Dele Momodu’s words in a video (7:50), he said, “When people ask me why can’t you contest to be governor in Edo State I say no, they will disqualify me automatically. They will say I can’t speak the language. Is there a language of Edo State?. What is the language of Edo, do we speak only one language in Edo?. For me what Comrade Oshiomhole did yesterday was bad.”….Seē_Morē
