In a recent video on Channels Television, Protesters have been restricted to the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, marking a notable shift in the location of demonstrations. A correspondent observed that the Unity Fountain and Eagle Square, usually active protest sites, were silent this morning. The Three Arm Zone, which houses critical government buildings, was especially quiet.
One significant observation was the cordon of the National Assembly, located opposite Eagle Square. Unlike the previous days, where there was a combined presence of the police, army, civil defense, and other security agencies, the National Assembly is now strictly guarded by military officers. The increased military presence reveals the heightened security measures in place.
According to the Analyst, “We are here at the MKO Abiola Stadium, where the protesters have been restricted. We went around this morning, visiting the Unity Fountain and Eagle Square. What we saw there was total silence; the entire nation’s capital, especially the Three Arm Zone, is very quiet. One of the things we noticed was that the cordon of the National Assembly, opposite Eagle Square, was done strictly by military officers. Unlike the last two days, where you had a combined scene of the police, the army, the civil defense, and other security agencies, the National Assembly is now strictly cordoned off by officers and men of the Nigerian Army.”….Seē _ Morē
