According to the report from the Vanguard, the Speaker of the Arewa Youth Assembly, Mohammed Salihu Danlami announced that the group has labeled former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose as an enemy of the North due to his recent actions.
According to the report, Ayodele Fayose on Channels TV said that, “The reason why it is difficult for Tinubu to develop Nigeria is because Northerners are giving birth to children they can’t cater for.”
However, Mohammed Salihu Danlami claimed that their influence played a significant role in securing Tinubu’s candidacy and subsequent victory in the presidential election.
Citing the constitutional right to protest, he called upon all Northerners to participate in protests across the 19 Northern states and FCT Abuja, beginning the following day, in response to Fayose’s alleged offense against the people of the North.
He demanded an apology from Fayose as a condition for resolving the issue and halting the planned demonstrations.
He said, “We have also declared him (Fayose) an enemy of the North. For record purpose, after Allah, we can say without any doubt, that we were instrumental to the emergence of Tinubu as APC Presidential candidate and his victory in the Presidential election
Since to protest is our Constitutional right, am calling on all Northerners to come out and join the protest in all the 19 Northern states and FCT Abuja starting tomorrow, unless former Governor Fayose apologizes to our people.”….Seë _ Morë
