Alhaji Baba Othman-Ngelzarma, the National President of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), disclosed startling statistics on the daily consumption of cattle in Southwest Nigeria.
According to Othman-Ngelzarma, their statistics indicate that approximately 6,000 cows are consumed in Lagos daily, highlighting the immense potential benefits of processing such a large number of cattle on a daily basis.
Furthermore, the MACBAN President revealed that an astonishing 250 truckloads of cows, each carrying between 35 to 40 cows, enter the southwestern part of the country every day.
This massive influx of cattle signifies that the entire Southwest region consumes over 8,000 cows daily, underscoring the significant demand for livestock products in the area.
In an interview with PUNCH, Alhaji Othman-Ngelzarma said, “Our statistics show that 6,000 cows are consumed in Lagos daily. Imagine the huge benefits of processing 6,000 cows daily.
