Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has issued a stern warning to organizers of the planned nationwide protest, scheduled to begin on August 1st. In a statement shared on the X platform, Fani-Kayode cautioned against resorting to violence, citing the example of Sudan as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of reckless actions.
He emphasized that any attempt to effect regime change through rebellion, revolution, or force would be met with resistance and could lead to catastrophic outcomes, including the potential loss of the country itself.
Fani-Kayode urged protesters to seek peaceful means of expressing their grievances, advising them to exercise caution and restraint. His warning comes as tensions rise ahead of the planned protest, with the government and security agencies also weighing in on the matter.
“To those that are planning to create havoc in our nation with their nationwide protest from August 1st I say the following: take note of what is happening in Sudan and appreciate the torment that reckless actions and defective reasoning may result in. If you indulge in violence and seek to effect regime change by rebellion, revolution and the force of arms you will wake up a sleeping sword, you will be effectively resisted, you may lose far more than you bargained for and you may not have a country left. My advice to you is as follows: seek peace and if you must protest do so peacefully and with caution” He said….Seē _ Morē
