On 2nd August, 2024 the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa while addressing the journalists on the ongoing nationwide protests against the administration of the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the current economic hardship facing the country, revealed that they would not fold their hands and see their country destroyed, and they would take action and the action would be taken professionally, against those using the advantage of the nationwide protests to caused mayhem in the country.
According to Vanguard, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa said “What we saw at the beginning, was some semblance of a very peaceful demonstration, but which was quickly taken over by a bunch of criminals that didn’t mean well. And if you remember, we had warned that there were individuals that were ready to cause mayhem once this starts. And so I want to appeal to Nigerians to understand that the federal government is doing the best it can for the country. The armed forces and the entire security agencies will not stand by and allow that to continue. We want to warn those that are in the house (sitting at home), those that don’t want to listen. We will not fold our hands and see our country destroyed. We will take action and the action will be taken professionally.”
General Christopher Musa called on the good citizens of the country to understand the administration of the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu because they were committed to tackling the current economic hardship and scarcity of food facing the country.
