In a stern address, Hossein Salami, the head of Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, issued a dire warning to Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, according to a report by The Times Of Israel.
Speaking at the Day of the Journalists event, Salami claimed that Israel’s actions against Hamas and its broader strategies in the region were leading to its own downfall.
Salami said, “Israel is ‘digging its own grave’ with its actions in its war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.” He emphasized that Israel’s continuous aggressive actions would eventually backfire, stating, “When they receive a blow, they will notice they are making mistakes. They are making mistakes all the time. They will see the result of their mistake. They will see when, how and where they will get their response.”
The Iranian general also touched on accusations that Israel has been targeting Iranian nuclear scientists, a subject of long-standing controversy. Iran’s nuclear program has been a point of international tension, with Tehran insisting that its uranium enrichment activities are for peaceful purposes, despite being closer than ever to weapons-grade levels. Salami accused Israel of trying to thwart Iran’s progress by targeting its scientists and leaders.
“Israel is the cradle of terrorism and it has been created out of killing and murder,” Salami alleged. He accused Israel of believing it could “kill the nuclear scientists of another country and impede that country’s path toward peaceful nuclear technology.” He linked this alleged strategy to broader Israeli actions in the region, including the assassination of resistance leaders, implying that such tactics were ultimately self-destructive for Israel. “They think that by killing the leader of a resistance group… in another country will give them more time to live,” Salami remarked, concluding, “They are just digging their own grave.”….Seê _Morê
