In a recent statement via his official X account, political economist and former presidential aspirant, Prof. Pat Utomi, has criticized the ongoing killings of EndBadGovernance protesters across Nigeria.
In his statement, Prof. Utomi shared his concern over the arrests and killings.
Prof. Utomi underlined the implications of the violence against the protesters and warned about the consequences of these actions.
“I have spoken now to one person who was arrested and has been released. I want to plead with the police to stop reducing everything to racketeering and to pray that they realize that the blood of innocents slaughtered in cold blood and disposed of can cry to Heaven for vengeance like that of Abel and that God’s vengeance can visit for generations.”
“So if they respect not their conscience or justice of a Nigeria with collapsing institutions they should fear for the future of their children,” Pat Utomi wrote.
The statement from Prof. Utomi highlights the severe human rights concerns in Nigeria.
The ongoing protests have seen a harsh crackdown from the authorities.
Many protesters have been arrested, and some have reportedly been killed.
Prof. Utomi’s call to the police is a plead for justice and humanity.
He urges them to consider the long-term effects of their actions….Seê_Morê
