In a candid interview on TVC TV, the chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Ogun State, Olufemi Aina questioned whether the President’s speech was effectively communicated to all Nigerians, particularly those who may not speak English as their primary language.
He emphasized the importance of delivering the President’s message in languages such as Hausa and Yoruba to ensure a broader understanding of the government’s stance and actions.
He highlighted the need for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima to engage with the public in their native languages to foster better connections with the people.
He figure criticized the administration for not utilizing local media outlets, such as Yoruba television, to communicate directly with the populace during the past 13 months.
He further encouraged the President’s ministers to follow suit in engaging with the public through various language mediums to promote greater understanding and transparency.
He said, “Did the protesters in Kano even understand the President (Tinubu) speech? It has to be interpreted in Hausa, it has to be interpreted in Yoruba language, so that the people will understand. The President can speak Yoruba, the Vice President can speak Hausa, they need to come out. The last 13 months, I have never seen the President granting an interview on a Yoruba television, communicating with ordinary people. His ministers also needs to follow suit.”…Seê_Morê
