In a recent statement, Senior Pastor Adewale Giwa of the Awaiting The Second Coming of Jesus Christ Church in Akure has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to stop asking Nigerians for patience, as reported by INDEPENDENT.
This announcement was made on Wednesday in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
Pastor Giwa released a statement to newsmen, urging President Tinubu to take immediate action.
He believes that the president should do what is right for the country instead of seeking patience from the citizens.
Pastor Giwa expressed concern over the current state of the nation.
He mentioned that the president’s request for patience was unreasonable.
He highlighted the president’s decision to stop fuel subsidy payments without giving the people enough time to adjust.
The pastor insisted that reducing the prices of essential goods and petroleum is crucial.
He stated that true leadership involves making tough decisions that benefit the people.
According to him, political leaders should set an example for the citizens.
“I hope Mr. President would listen to my earlier advice if truly he wants the best for Nigeria. Again, begging Nigerians to be patient with you is like someone telling you to resign from the presidency, which is not possible to forgo. You were not patient with Nigerians when you discontinued fuel subsidy payments. Therefore, Mr. President, you are running out of time.”
“Anybody who truly loves the president would advise him to crash the prices of foodstuffs and petroleum in no time. My prayers are with Nigeria, but our political leaders must lead by example,” he said….Seē _ Morē
