In a recent statement posted on his official X account, Sam Amadi, the Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts and former Executive Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has criticized President Tinubu speech regarding the ongoing EndBadGovernance protest.
Amadi expressed his views on Tinubu’s response to the protests and suggested that Tinubu’s statements are not reflective of genuine concern for the issues at hand.
Amadi questioned Tinubu’s commitment to reducing government costs.
“As the heart is, so goes the speech. Don’t blame the speech, blame the man.
Tinubu does not intend to cut cost of government. In spite of being a ‘street boy’, he does not care about the street, just like Buhari who hurt the poor although he was their champion,” Amadi wrote.
Amadi also compared Tinubu to former President Buhari, accusing both leaders of failing to support the poor despite their promises.
The EndBadGovernance protest continues to gain momentum as citizens express their dissatisfaction with the current administration’s performance.
Amadi’s comments contribute to the growing debate on whether the government is addressing the concerns raised by the protesters.
